Just started watching NFL football...even though the draft is in april how do trades still happen?

i just read about Jets pickin up the steelers MVP from last year and now randy moss? how do they move around during the season OR am i reading it wrong? im trying to understand lol...im a chick! i just want to get it down so i can enjoy every aspect of football!
