I think you should invite him over in the presence of your parents and introduce him to them as a new friend. After a couple of weeks/months, your parents will probably realize he's nice and sweet and a good guy. Then you can tell your parents you recently started dating because you have feelings for each other. You have the right to fall in love. Your parents can understand that, can't they?
