Quilting info please!!!! 2 block quilts for beginner?

Im a bead artist, joined a quilt guild w/mom to "get out of the house". we have a 2 block quilt challenge due 4/29/09(our show). how this happened..i dont know..im sewing a quilt for the first time in my life..im 36...any ideas, info would be great! mine has to be "original". thanks!
