Is the cognitive system modularized for recognition and retrieval of different kinds of category information?

cognitve (awareness) broken down into different parts of the brain. you are being asked if the brain stores different types of info in different areas. Like sight , smell, sound and color recognition. memories of faces, events, spacial memory, etc. Tests have been done locating where certain of these areas are on the brain. Like frontal lobe , temperal lobe, etc. real basic, but I hope that helps some.
