How much does a starting waiter/ress working at Mel's diner, 3-4 days a week, make on average including tips?

I am just now leaving for college and I am wondering if Mel's is a good steady job with an "ok" average pay. I thought that a restaurant would be a good place to work at because there are so many, and I am great with people.
