How to I make great Tex Mex tamales?

Okay. I'm from Texas. South Texas. My grandma made YUMMY tamales every year on Christmas. I want to know how to make them! I want to surprise my immediate family with these. Can anyone show me or explain to in detail the recipe. I don't want the BerryHill version. I want my Abuelita's way of cookin it.
