What is POLAR EXPLORATION?

Polar exploration deals with scientific investigations of the life, land, and oceans and atmosphere above the Arctic Circle. It may also apply to the same thing at the Antarctic Circle, but just because of common parlance "polar" often refers to the Arcitc, not the Antarctic, even though they both qualify equally.
