How many german and italian pow camps existed at the end of 1945?

You do not say where they existed but I ume the UK. Frankly if anybody can tell you I would be most surprised they were all over the place. When you think we took about 250,000 Italians North Africa, that all even tally arrived in this country. They were all over the place, they were not allowed on buses but did ride on them, they worked on farms and it was nothing to see them walking down the street without an Escort. They did not want the war. The Germans were of course the reverse, they did work and were closely guarded
